ABSTRACT: A Polish midwife has published in an online pregnancy information centre for Polish women that there are considerable advantages to an epidural apart from easing the pain. Iga disproves this claim citing numerous evidence to the contrary, and furthermore points to the dangers of discussing pros and cons of an epidural without ever mentioning the risk and potential side effects that having an epidural unavoidably carries. The article finishes in an open plea to all pregnant mothers not to be fooled by titles such as "ask the midwife" or "the perfect mama", but to check the evidence before they take any serious decision.
